THE ETHICS OF FORCE FCTC. DAY WITHOUT SNUFF

.
Avanza worldwide implementation of FCTC , 172 countries have ratified it, and like every year, WHO proposes a new flagship issue for the World No Snuff : The WHO Framework Convention for the Control of Snuff. We a measure or theme WNTD traditionally oriented to putting " highlight the general importance of the treaty, to highlight the obligations of Parties under the treaty and promote the essential role of the Conference of the Parties and WHO in providing support national efforts to meet these obligations ", which in itself is already an ambitious task.

Recognizing the broad regulatory acceptance and kindness of its impact on public health, the Convention far from being an international treaty or an agenda widely known and disclosed in the public, authorities and media. Welcome to the World Day in its aim to put on the public agenda the theme of the Convention.

From
we know different civil society initiatives to be linked to World No Snuff (no activity since the governments), protected under the common denominator to promote and analyze the main control measures snuff, smoke-free, health warnings, advertising, taxes and prices, etc., but remember that the Convention goes beyond the "measures "as instruments of realization of actions to reduce the prevalence of use and exposure to smoke, to move to a model of living with some ethical content anchored in human rights and the development of peoples, as is clear from Purpose, Principles and Preamble of the Convention.

FCTC Make a framework of ethics regarding citizen who must preside over our social and political activities, strengthen our belief in "another world is possible" with a broad sense of the public, where prime Rights and the common good over the interests of the market. An empowerment of these characteristics, surely we will advance our fight against tobacco business, and building new and better partnerships, as demanded, for example, the agenda for noncommunicable diseases.
