Cordoba Declaration
A cruel paradox insists humble men and women who love public life: Argentina, an immensely rich country, proved to be the home of extremely poor families. The Argentine democracy restored in 1983, seen from this 2010, frustrates us so much to us, radicals who believe in dialogue and agreement, as all who saw their living standards decline and quality of essential services to be provided by the State.
We, however, and still, with a broad consensus about the virtues of democratic life. Without further delay political democracy and a beautiful ritual election should produce social democracy. Because they are the economic conditions that define the characteristics of the social order. And a democracy that tolerates the exclusion of some of the people, democracy ceases to be the worth the generous gift of it represents and which is also represented.
The current national government plays a conservative populist authoritarian tone that does not recognize legal boundaries and institutions conceived as obstacles to be avoided. Concentrated and personalized power and interpret every criticism as an act of aggression. Divide the world into friends and enemies and is supposed to discuss show weakness. By its very nature, lacks the capacity to organize the future, because any project that depends on authoritarian personalities, is fragile and unstable.
And this would not only bad, but there was something worse: the government is hostage to a productive matrix which does not improve quality of life of the majority. Economic growth is a necessary but not sufficient ingredient for poverty reduction. Society needs to equality and development. If not, you can not live in peace and security. Poverty is not normal, is immoral.
